Jim Travers

Jim is a graduate of Hull University where he was awarded a 2:1 LL.B. Honours degree in 1997. Jim progressed to the College of Law in Chester where he passed the Diploma in Legal Practice in 1998.

During a sabbatical year in 1999, Jim spent 9 months working within the litigation department of a major commercial law firm in Sydney, Australia. He returned to the Island in 2000 and passed the Manx Bar exams in 2001. Jim was called to the Bar the following year and has concentrated his practice in the areas of Criminal law, Licensing and Employment law.

Jim was Chairman of the IOM Young Lawyers Association in 2001. He regularly lectures the IOM Bar examination students on the subject of Criminal law. Jim was appointed as a member of the IOM Sports Council in 2006.
