Practice Areas

Trusts

Paul is one of the leading trust practitioners on the Isle of Man who has been published worldwide over many years. He has extensive experience of structure design and implementation and in Chancery of defending the rights and responsibilities of trustees and of beneficiaries alike. He lectures widely and is often invited to run staff training seminars.

Company and Commercial

Paul takes the view that it is not enough simply to advise blandly on corporate and commercial law without going the extra mile and proposing business implementation strategies based on his Board Room experience (he is a former head of Fiduciary Services in Europe of Deutsche Bank (Suisse) S.A). For over a decade he has been a contributing author to major works, including European Cross-Border Estate Planning - and International Insurance Law and Regulation.

Commercial Litigation

In the current difficult times our ethos remains that the client is entitled to bespoke practical advice. This may involve urgent action in Court as well as measured consideration of the whole situation.

Criminal Law

Expertise in Criminal Law covers the Summary Courts through to General Gaol and Staff of Government proceedings, meaning that the most minor road traffic offence and the most serious offences on the Statute books can be dealt with effectively.

Experience as a Senior Defence Advocate advising and assisting clients through every stage of the legal process from interview at the Police Station through to appearance at Court hearings. A comprehensive service is undertaken with a professional approach at all times.

Privately funded and Legal Aid cases are readily accepted.

Human Rights

Mannin Chambers is rare among commercial firms in being also a leading Human Rights practice, recognising that this is not self-contained but a constitutional measure of fundamental importance which takes precedence over ordinary legislation and so touches every aspect of the law, be it international, private, commercial or criminal.
