Consultant - Helen Barry

Helen Barry

Helen Barry studied law at Manchester University and qualified as a solicitor in 1986. She became a partner in EAD Solicitors LLP in 1996, having previously been a partner in another Liverpool firm, and heads the Clinical Negligence Department.

She is approved as a specialist by being accredited as a member of the AvMA Referral Panel and the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Panel. She is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) with Senior Litigator status.

Helen has a particular interest in complex and high-profile clinical negligence cases. Several of these cases have been widely reported in the local and national media, including a case involving a young woman who underwent an emergency hysterectomy at the age of 19. This case was one of the first of its kind because a claim was made to seek compensation for the costs of surrogacy.

Helen has been involved in settlement of a number of brain injury cases with damages in excess of £4 million. She is particularly well known as an expert in cases involving women’s health and has been involved in high profile ‘right to life’ cases.
